KCVC Important Updates!

hope this note finds all of you well and feeling supported by our KCVC resources. I have three big items that I want to talk about today.

Utilizing the KCVC Cycle

During my last note, I wrote about our first hire and how he leveraged the KCVC to expand his professional network. I’m pleased to announce that we have a second member that has been hired, with a third finalizing their offers. Yes, offer(s). All of these individuals have something in common when it comes to their KCVC membership. Each of them benefited from leveraging the “KCVC Cycle”, which includes a resume review, mock interviews and mentoring. We continue to see success stories from members going through the entire program. Sadly, only about 20% of our KCVC members have leveraged these available resources.

I strongly encourage each of you to go through the full cycle, go on our website and request a mock interview or mentoring session. If you have questions, or hesitant about next steps, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Our KCVC model is designed to support you through this process.

Send Your Completed Resume

Most of you have completed a resume review with one of our KCVC review teams. Beginning this week, our team will begin sourcing completed resumes to all the KCVC corporations on a bi-weekly cadence. This serves as an incredible advantage of bypassing the proverbial “HR Filter”. So please send us a copy of your completed resume by this Friday, if you have completed the resume review process. Don’t worry if you’re still working on your resume, or meeting with our team. We will add your finalized resume once completed.

Boots in Cubes Tour – Part of “Bring a Vet to Work Week”

The KCVC team is continuing to create innovative ideas to help our Veterans and service members with the transition. We are in the beginning stages of creating an event where KCVC members will have the opportunity to visit various corporations around Kansas City and learn more about the operation, various functions, daily challenges/goals and most importantly, hear from the HR representatives. I will have more details in the coming weeks, but this will be an amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes of these great companies and learn more about the corporate lifestyle.

In closing, we are committed to removing every barrier in the way of Veteran hiring. We need your help to be successful, please explore the mock interviews and mentoring on our website. Almost equally important, please remember to send us your completed resume. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions. We’re here to help!
